NOTES:-

* This son John probably went to Elmore, where on 1 May 1687 at age 53 he married Elizabeth Ricketts, and they had 1 son John baptised 21 April 1688. This may well constitute the connection between my genealogy and that of Bob Everett of Churchdown, Glos.

In assembling the next sheet BOD -5/2, there is a large time gap between the 1635 birth of John and his marriage in Elmore some 53 years later. He is therefore assigned to generation -5 rather than generation -6.

** Thomas is a bit of a mystery. There are other ‘Thomas’ events during this period which might well be attributed to this name, but a specific analysis is difficult to achieve at this time. So as yet there is no way of completing the sheet of this Reference Number.

In fact early records derived from the parish record for Minsterworth are not a straightforward task. Little additional information is included, so the end result amounts to the best guess of the compiler. It all could change in detail, but I believe that there is sufficient inherent consistency to be able to say that the Bodenham genealogy in Gloucestershire is definitely based in Minsterworth from 1556 until just before 1800-
