This family lives in Queensland, Australia.
Peter (senior) and Joan have visited England several times. He would visit his aunts, Annie, and her sisters, and did not expect to see us. We had never met. He was a policeman in Australia. On one occasion he and Joan were visiting aunt Annie, who by then I was contacting for genealogy, and she told me they had just left to visit another aunt in Falmouth, but were staying overnight in Totnes while passing through. He was ‘driving a white Ford rental car’ of unknown registration and had been speaking to a ‘Mrs. Williams’ who ran this unknown B&B. I decided to locate them, and much was their surprise when (with the considerable help of a friend from Totnes) I was able to walk up to him and say, ‘Excuse me, are you Peter Bodenham?’
